 The founder of ISRO, Dr. Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai, the beast of aerospace research in India.  He is called the 'father of interdisciplinary research' in India.  In honor of him, ISRO has added the name 'Vikram' to the historic lunar yatra.  Lander was created in the name of the late Vikram Sarabhai.

 The death of scientist Vikram Sarabhai is mysterious (December 31, 1971).
