1. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan gets Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
Special honorees are honored every year in honor of the father of Indian cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke. This award has been running since 1969. Legends like Satyajit Roy, Raj Kapoor, Gulzar, Vinod Khanna have been given the honor earlier.
From the 1970s till today, the Indian government has chosen Amitabh Bachchan for his immense contribution to the film world.
He received Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri earlier. Another feather is added to the crown this time.
2. Renowned footballer Lionel Messi received the first 'FIFA 2019 Men's Player of the Year' award.
